In 1996 there were 26,000 domain names on the .uk register, now there are nearly 7,000,000. Our turnover has grown to over £15m. We have a unique, and important function on which many UK citizens and businesses depend: in 2006, the value of sales over the Internet in 2006 was £130.4 bn, and over 2/3 of companies are using the internet to assist their business (source: ONS, 2007 quoted in the Byron review).
